Enabling best practice in diabetes management through design and delivery of high quality educational packages.

Paul Dromgoole has extensive experience of starting and / or managing projects. A starter – finisher is on offer but is you already have a project you would like take forward, I have the expertise and contacts if required to take things further.

Some of the main projects undertaken include:

  • ‘Insulin in Practice’. A training and support programme for commencement of insulin in Primary Care. This presented by Paul Dromgoole at Diabetes UK Annual Professional Conference (2004).
  • ‘Managing Your Diabetes’ handbook, a self-test and information guide. Presented as an oral poster at Diabetes UK 2005.
  • Developing a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for a diabetes programme. Successfully awarded a pilot project at the University of York
  • Development of a diabetes website www.yorkshirediabetes.com in 2000 and ongoing support for this. This project, wining a £3,000 regional NHS grant and now achieving some 50,000 – 90,000 hits per month.
  • Developing a study day programme at the University of York. This (and other programmes) seeing 450 health care professionals in diabetes educational programmes in one year (2004-05).
  • A series of comprehensive, structured, educational portfolio for people with Type 1 diabetes, on twice daily or multiple injection therapy insulin or newly diagnosed with diabetes. These programmes highly evaluated by users.
  • Pharmaceutical sponsored talks on a range of diabetes issues, for differing health professional, with very positive evaluations (archived).
